BOTANIC PAVILION CHENGDU EXPO
CUPD
The Chengdu EXPO, held in Chengdu, China, is one of the largest events dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and integration between nature and urbanism. Located in one of the country's most dynamic regions, the exhibition highlights visionary projects that propose new forms of coexistence between the natural environment and built space.
Inspired by the initial phase of plants – the seed – the Botanic Pavilion was created to establish a harmonic connection between human life and nature. The project proposes an ideal future vision, where people and plants coexist and evolve together.
Its design is based on architectural regionalism, with each space designed in relation to its surroundings, respecting and dialoguing with the local landscape. Ecology is the fundamental principle that guides the entire conception of the pavilion.
Beyond its innovative aesthetics, the Botanic Pavilion's extensive program invites visitors to explore emotions, stories, and sensations, promoting a sensory dialogue between people and architecture. And its relevance goes beyond the Chengdu EXPO: designed for reuse, the pavilion can be disassembled and repurposed, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and circularity in construction.
